Whether you are a single women that wants to feel safe shopping or traveling alone, a business owner that wants to feel secure manning, opening or closing your business, a college student that wants to be worry-free walking campus, or a mom that wants to protect your children from predators in the park or at the shopping center; Point of Defense can help you develop the skills to give you peace of mind.

Point of Defense training is designed to give you the skills that can safely remove you from harms way in threatening situations. Most self-defense courses currently available are geared towards military and law enforcement strategies and tactics. While these are great skills, the average citizen doesn't have the time to learn and constantly train these complex and time-consuming practices.

What most citizens don't know is that there are a key set of core skills that will greatly increase an average person's safety and odds of survival should you become involved in a violent situation. These core skills are awareness, mindset, and the ability to effectively utilize the weapon available to you. The basic level of competency in these core skills can be developed in two eight hour classes, held over a weekend, with a weapon of your choice: handgun, shotgun or knife.

Once the core skills are developed, we offer a series of four, six or eight hour classes designed to help you address specific situations and we offer refresher courses to maintain the core skills.

The four, six and eight hour classes are tailored to address situations such as:
  • What you do if you are asleep and hear someone break into your home.
  • How to avoid violent situations in cities and urban areas.
  • What you should do if you are threatened with a violent act.
  • Safety for children between the ages of 7 and 14.
  • Safety for teens and young adults between the ages of 15 and 21.
  • Self-defense for women.
  • The use of less than lethal force (taser, pepper spray).
  • Defending yourself against a knife attack.
  • What should you do to increase the safety of your home.
